The biggest news is our major coup of gaining the legendary Stan Munro from Les Girls, he was the main compere and star of the show and will be putting on a new show “Vintage Drag in Mint Condition”
We are flying Stan Munro down to Walhalla from northern NSW for a one off show at our dinner on Saturday 26th May 2012. Spread the word that we are so lucky to have Stan coming to our Gay May Day.

The Walhalla Gay May Day will be a day to have a fun and gay (in both the original meaning of the word and Gay Pride) day with a family atmosphere including music, May poles and dancing, the smell of the BBQ and lots of laughs and celebrate that life should be fun for everyone, all in beautiful Stringers Park in Historic Walhalla and will make our inaugural Gay May Day a day to remember and proud to be Australian.
Event name; Walhalla Gay May Day Location; Stringers park in Walhalla, Gippsland, Victoria. Date; Saturday, May 26th 2012. Time; 11.00am to 3.00pm in Stringers park. 7.00pm dinner at Walhalla Mechanics Institute (dinner is to be pre booked and adults only) Dress code; Fancy dress during the day is encouraged for Fashions on the Goldfield. Night time at the dinner is smart casual or fancy casual! Activities; Showbags will be for sale in the park for $5.00 each which includes registration to participate in the days activities. A Walhalla Gay May Day badge in the bag will show who is registered and they are then invited to take part in the Fashions on the Goldfields and in the old fashioned fun, Tug of War. The showbag will contain vouchers to use in Walhalla totaling over $50.00 in value and with a few added surprises as well! A barbeque will be cooking in the park with super size sausages and hamburgers for sale at $5.00 each. The Tug of War and the Fashions on the Goldfields will be held with different categories to include children, the young and the not so young! Many and varied prizes will be given out to the winners to remind them of Walhalla Gay May Day. Between 3 and 7pm its time to enjoy the beauty of Walhalla, so maybe a walk or a coffee before the adults get “dolled” up for our first Rude Food Dinner with the legendary entertainer and female impersonator, Stan Munro. We are very excited to be flying Stan down from Northern New South Wales where he now resides to do a one off show in Walhalla, “Vintage Drag in Mint Condition”. Stan was the original compere and star of Les Girls in St Kilda a “few” years ago. For seven years he entertained thousands of people in the shows. He still does shows and it will sure to be a memorable night at the Walhalla Mechanics Institute. Dinner is going to be full of fun and laughs also with a four course dinner presented and named with a slightly “rude” twist. All prepared and cooked by two chefs who live in Walhalla. Drinks including soft drinks, beer, wine and of course a bit of sparkling will be for sale at bar prices. A few other activities will also be happening, but you will have to wait for the day!
